Here at Option1Garage, Drifting is a big part of our business... we saw the need for another Drift facility in SE Qld with the rise in popularity of drifting and started looking around for venues.
The result of this search is a great tight and technical track at Archerfield in Brisbane, right beside the speedway in Colebard St. Thanks to Barry from ProDirt for letting us use the venue.
Below you will find a calendar of events for the venue - The Friday night Drift events are open to spectators at $15 a head (adult) to come and see some of the best QLD drifters in action!
We are also now organising practice on Wednesday afternoons from 4pm till 8pm - these are aimed at getting beginners or complete novices out on the track and giving them some time to hone their skills. We are hoping these days will help the sport of drifting grow in Queensland and bring on some more talented drifters to add to the great drivers we already have!
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOUR POSITION ON THE NIGHT WILL NOT BE GUARANTEED UNTIL PAYMENT IS RECEIVED - DETAILS IN 'CONTACT US' SECTION. ALSO, ANY ENTRIES MADE 2 HOURS PRIOR TO THE EVENT MAY NOT BE RECEIVED IN TIME THEREFORE YOU WILL HAVE TO FILL OUT THE FORM AT THE GATE
UPCOMING EVENTS
Battle Royal Drift Competition Friday 3rd September
This Friday comp is going to be better than ever!! We will have some of QLD's best drifters battling door to door all night long.
The night will include a practice session, qualifying, top 16 battle tree, hottest entries and drift trains!!
1st place - $500 cash plus a pair of Kumho Tyres (including the street legal semi-slicks - Kumho KU36!!) 2nd place - $200 cash plus a pair of Kumho Tyres 3rd place - Pair of Kumho Tyres Big thank you to Kumho for supplying the tyres for the place winners! They will receive a voucher for their tyres so they get the choice of pattern and size suitable to their car.
Gates open 5pm Practice starts 6pm Competition starts 7pm Night concludes 10pm *There will be a few cars allowed on track around 5.30pm for photos before sunset so if you would like to be there for that then please be ready to go on track by that time.
We will have 2 guest judges on the night – they are very experienced drivers and will be conducting the driver’s briefing on the night with information on how they will be judging and what exactly they will be looking for.
Cost of the night is $80 per driver and prepayment is required to confirm your spot. This must be done by Wednesday 1st September! This can be done in store, direct deposit or credit card over the phone. There are only 16 spots available plus 2 reserves for the night. The drivers for this event are by invitation only.
Please note that drivers are not required to take passenger rides at the end of the night!! You are more than welcome to take your own passengers throughout the expression session until the night concludes.

Weekly Wednesday Practices
Weekly Wednesday drift practices have now started! Taking place at Full Lock Motorsport Park from 4-8pm every Wednesday afternoon.
Costs:
$50 - Driver Entry
$5 - Spectator Entry
These days are for all skill levels ranging from complete beginners through to the more advanced drifters. The track is run to suit both categories, and those in between. Advanced drivers are present every week at these events and are happy to give you a few pointers throughout the night if asked.
Please note that anyone within pit area (drivers, passengers, helpers) MUST be wearing enclosed shoes! No children to be in pit area. Any passengers or drivers are required to have an approved helmet, enclosed footwear and an appropriate wrist band before driving on track. No alcohol or glass bottles permitted.
Private Hire
These are ALL of the private hire dates for 2010. They are all available now and require a minimum deposit of $200 to confirm your booking and lock your date in. This is a great chance to get out there with some friends and have some fun! You will be able to set the track up as you like, choosing from the following layouts: Normal Track Fast Track Reverse Slow Track Reverse Fast Track Gymkhana Full Track *for approved drivers only!* ... there are endless possibilities! The nights available are Friday nights which can run from either 4-8pm or 5-9pm for 4 hours of non stop track time!!
